About the Harvesters Table

Do you have extra vegetables, berries or wild harvest? You can donate your harvest or we can sell it on your behalf. You can even experience being a vendor and sell it in-person at the Harvesters Table.

Ways to Participate

Please fill out this form to register to sell produce at the Harvester’s Table. We’ll then assign you a number, which you will give the Harvester’s Table when you drop off your produce.

Donate your extra harvest (vegetables, berries or wild harvest): Rinse your harvest with City water and drop it off at the Harvesters Table at the Farmers Market between 4:00 and 5:00 or contact us so we can pick it up. We will keep the proceeds

We sell for you: Please contact us prior to the market for approval, packaging and pricing ideas. Rinse your harvest with City water and drop it off at the Harvesters Table at the Farmers Market between 4:00 and 4:45 PM. We will keep 25% of the sales and you get 75%.

Experience being a vendor: Sell your own harvest (or seedlings) at a cost of 10% of your sales per market. This is a great way to learn how to market yourself and your products. We will provide you with insurance, a table and a business license. All you need to do is tell us ahead of time, pay your $20 YKFM membership and show up! If you use this Harvesters Table service for more than 3 weeks, new users will have priority and further use will be based on availability.

Why does the Farmers Market keep a percentage of sales?

The Market retains a portion of sales for two reasons. First, it offsets the costs of operating the Harvesters Table – insurance, business licenses, outreach and more. Second, the revenue helps to fund important initiatives hosted by the Farmers Market. We plan to pursue initiatives related to education, health, community outreach, food security and economic development. The success of the Harvesters Table will allow the Farmers Market to continue offering great community programs.

Want to start a Harvesters Table in your own community?

The YKFM worked with the GNWT’s department of Industry, Tourism and Investment to develop a handy Handbook to help other NWT communities create their own Harvesters Table. Download a copy for yourself!
